Dear fellow ESYO members,
As you know, because of the current public health crisis, we are not able to perform live music together. In these trying times, members of the Young Leader Program are coordinating efforts to reach out to the local community and help bring comfort to those who are most vulnerable right now. Our goal is to provide musical entertainment for nursing homes, senior residencies, hospitals, and other care centers where people are not permitted to have visitors. The Young Leaders have started a project through which we are recording performances that will be uploaded to ESYO’s YouTube channel — a playlist will be created to compile all the recordings and the link will be sent to care centers that have expressed interest in our project.
We would like to extend an invitation for all ESYO members to participate! If you would like to contribute to our project, make a video recording of yourself performing any music you prefer. However, please limit your performance to no more than 10 minutes. Feel free to use previously recorded performances as well! Then, email or share (via Google Drive) your recording to one of the Young Leader representatives listed below, according to which ESYO ensemble you are a member of:
Joyce – Symphony, Repertory, and String Orchestras
Trey – Wind / Jazz Orchestras and Percussion Ensembles
Your content will then be uploaded to ESYO’s YouTube channel and added to our project’s playlist. We ask that all videos be sent in by May 29th.
If you have any questions or would like additional information, feel free to reach out to one of the Young Leader representatives. This project is a great way to contribute to our local community through music during the pandemic and we hope many of you can participate!
