Tara Hanish

Teaching Artist (Strings)

Ms. Hanish holds a BM (Univ. of Michigan with Anthony Elliott), MM (Univiversity of Miami with Ross Harbaugh), and Professional Studies Diploma (Cleveland Institute of Music with Richard Aaron) in Cello Performance. As a registered Suzuki cello teacher, Ms. Hanish completed long-term training with Pam Devenport at the School for Strings, as well as short-term training with Tanya Carey and Barbara Wampner. Ms. Hanish formerly taught on the faculties of the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, Queens College Prep, Suzuki on the Island, JCC Thurnauer School of Music, and Cleveland Institute of Music Prep. Ms. Hanish performs frequently as a member of the Glens Falls Symphony, Catskill Symphony, Fenimore Chamber Orchestra, and post-rock instrumental trio “You Bred Raptors.” Ms. Hanish also owns and operates an event music business, Mayfield Strings, and currently maintains a private studio in Upstate NY.
