Development Director

Reports to: Executive Director
Status: Full Time Exempt

Summary: Under supervision of the Executive Director, this position builds, supports, and advances high-quality, year-round relationships with key segments of individuals, particularly major stakeholders, donors, sponsors and alumni, to attract and sustain resources (financial, volunteer and advocacy) to support ESYO’s strategic direction and community impact

  • Works closely with the Executive Director and Board to continuously research, cultivate and solicit new sources of revenue.Oversees planning and implementation of the annual fund campaign.
  • Manages the solicitation and acknowledgment process, maintains comprehensive records and monitors the fulfillment of donor and sponsor benefits and recognition. 
  • Develops and implements new strategies to secure corporate support.
  • Supports the Executive Director in the solicitation and management of grants to maintain and increase annual grant income.
  • Maintains accurate records pertaining to grants, advertising and sponsorships.
  • Initiates, implements and supports fundraising activities and promotions.
  • Directs planning for ESYO’s signature events (Playathon, Encore State) and other fundraisers, in collaboration with ESYO’s Marketing & Events Manager.
  • Attends all ESYO concerts and events as requested.
  • Attends annual Board retreat in September
  • Serves as a Content Curator/Mentor for ESYO Young Leaders on the Ambassador Track.
  • Drafts, proposes and manages annual development budgets.
  • Provides monthly reports to the Executive Director. Provide reports to the Board of Directors as requested.
  • Attends weekly staff meetings, Communications Team meetings, and all Board of Directors meetings.
  • Supervises volunteers related to development. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

  • 3-5 years relevant experience (fundraising, donor relations, account management, marketing/communications, donor CRM).
  • Consummate networker and strategist.
  • Professional and resourceful, with the ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Ability to take initiative and manage multiple deadline driven tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Highly organized, proactive and motivated.
  • Exceptional speaking, persuading, and visioning skills; ability to speak and write in a compelling way about ESYO’s funding and programmatic goals.
  • Extensive experience with donor management systems and databases.
