Summer Sessions | Soundpainting Workshop

Monday, August 07

2:00 pm

Led by ESYO Music Director Etienne Abelin, you will learn how to soundpaint in this fun workshop for beginners! Soundpainting is an improvisation and instant composition sign language that allows for musicians to interact with each other and develop their artistic expressivity in a spontaneous and fun way. Soundpainting connects music with movement using more than 1500 gestures to compose music live, at the moment, with other musicians, dancers, actors and visual artists. The gestures allow musicians to communicate musical ideas with each other while embodying the music they are creating. This workshop is geared toward students 12 and up; local music teachers are also welcome to attend. Bring your instrument!
