Repertory Jazz and Repertory Orchestra Perform at Shaker High School

Repertory Jazz led by Russo and Repertory Orchestra led by David Deck both took to the stage of Shaker Senior High School on Oct 29 to a delighted house of parents and friends.

They were followed by the full Repertory Orchestra. The orchestra made a lively entrance to the stage with William Walton’s Crown Imperial Coronation March. They then shared a lovely rendition of Dmitri Kabalevsky’s playful The Comedians. The evening then took a Baroque turn with Bach’s Sheep May Safely Graze before coming back to modern times with Brian Balmages’ Summer Dances. The evening ended with an inspiring rendition of the final movement of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5—a special favorite for their conductor.

A big thank you to North Colonie Friends of Music and District Music Supervisor Deborah Keough for hosting this concert.

Congratulations to all the musicians on a successful opening to their ESYO season!
