Playathon, Young People’s Concert & more return this March

ESYO concert classics planned for spring concert schedule

Empire State Youth Orchestra’s spring season includes the return of annual traditions, including Young People’s and Seniors’ concerts on March 8 presented by our lead sponsor, MVP, and Playathon on March 25.

Playathon is ESYO’s most important friend-raiser and fundraiser of the year! This fun-filled day of music raises money for ESYO while showcasing the breadth and depth of our programs. This free, family-friendly marathon event takes place from 10:30am – 5:15 pm on Saturday, March 25 at
Crossgates Mall and showcases hundreds of young musicians - it’s the only day of the year where all ESYO ensembles (including CHIME) perform.

The Young People’s and Seniors’ concerts make their return on March 8 after a two-year pandemic pause. The Young People's concert starts at 10:30 am on Proctors Main stage, and, geared towards elementary and early middle school students, explores the wonder of music and how an orchestra plays together. Reservations are required from schools for this concert; for more information, visit the concert page here.

The Seniors’ concert, starting at 1:00 pm on March 8, is free for all community members and will feature ESYO Symphony Orchestra performing Aaron Copland’s Appalachian Spring. Reservations are not required for this concert except for groups of 10+ people or for those who need accessible seating.
