Your gift will help ESYO to continue providing unparalleled musical experiences for the youth in our region. Donations from individuals, corporations, and foundations cover about 60% of ESYO’s operating budget; the balance is covered by tuition and concert ticket sales. This model keeps ESYO accessible to many more eligible young musicians by keeping tuition as affordable as possible.
ESYO awards more than $30,000 in financial assistance each season, providing support for tuition, private lessons, instrument subsidies and Tours. If you are interested in establishing a scholarship to ensure all children can pursue musical excellence regardless of income, please contact Rebecca Calos at rcalos@esyo.org to learn more.
The ESYO Experience is far more than weekly rehearsals and performances. We know that a young musician’s pursuit of excellence needs to be enhanced by a variety of enriching opportunities such as Festivals, Tours, Master Classes, Artistic collaborations and Residencies.
While the majority of our musicians purchase their own instruments, ESYO provides subsidies for students who cannot otherwise afford to secure them. ESYO also invests in percussion equipment and repairs as well as certain orchestral instruments such as the E-flat clarinet and English Horn.
ESYO musicians have the opportunity to perform at a variety of acoustic gems including Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, Arthur Zankel Music Center, Carnegie Hall and the Massry Center for the Arts. ESYO also invests each season in bringing new music to life through commissioning and composer-in-residency projects. Every few years, ESYO participates in an International Tour, performing at outstanding venues across the globe.
ESYO gratefully acknowledges the contributions of our generous supporters. The list represents gifts and pledges received Jan 1, 2021 – March 1st, 2022. If there are any omissions or errors we appologize and would be most grateful if they could be brought to our attention by contacting us here, thank you.
