Some noteable ESYO alumni include:

  • Ian Antonio: 2023 Grammy nominated Percussionist; director of the Wet Ink Ensemble, named 2018’s “Best Ensemble” by the New York Times. Assistant Professor of Percussion at the University of Michigan’s School of Music. BM from Manhattan School of Music and MM and DMA from Stony Brook University.
  • Ashley Bathgate: Renowned cellist – an “eloquent new music interpreter” (New York Times) and “glorious cellist” (The Washington Post), Ashley is one of the most sought-after performers of her time. BM from Bard College, MM & AD at Yale University.
  • Stefon Harris: Multi-Grammy nominated Jazz Vibraphonist; educator and thought leader. Called “one of the most important artists in jazz” by the Los Angeles Times. Manhattan School of Music (BM in classical and MM in jazz performance). Artistic Director of Jazz Education at New Jersey Performing Arts Center.
  • Kenneth Olsen: Assistant Principal Cello, Chicago Symphony Orchestra; BM from the Cleveland Institute of Music. Additional studies at Juilliard.
