In this concert, a collaboration with the Rensselaer Orchestra and its brilliant conductor Robert Whalen, we present “Fluid Realities: An Orchestral Exploration of Berlioz’ Symphonie Fantastique.” Berlioz’s music tells the story of someone whose emotions flow from real-life experiences into a dreamlike world where reality starts to shift. As the music unfolds, this flow between the real and the imagined creates a journey through wild mood changes and vivid dreams. The result is a thrilling ride where fantasy and reality blur together, creating a soundscape where nothing remains fixed.
This concert will also feature ESYO’s 2025 Lois Lyman Concerto Competition winner, Abi Norsworthy, performing Schumann’s Cello Concerto in A Minor.
“Winning the Lois Lyman Concerto Competition is an incredible honor, and I am beyond excited to perform Schumann’s Cello Concerto with ESYO,” said Abi Norsworthy. “This piece is deeply expressive and full of emotion, and I can’t wait to share it with the audience.”
