ESYO awards more than $30,000 in financial assistance each season, providing support for tuition, private lessons, instrument subsidies and Tours. If you are interested in establishing a scholarship to so all children can grow through high-level music-making regardless of income, please contact Rebecca Calos at rcalos@esyo.org to learn more.
The ESYO Experience is far more than weekly rehearsals and performances. We know that a young musician’s pursuit of excellence needs to be enhanced by a variety of enriching opportunities such as Festivals, Tours, Master Classes, Artistic collaborations and Residencies.
While the majority of our musicians purchase their own instruments, ESYO provides subsidies for students who cannot otherwise afford to secure them. ESYO also invests in percussion equipment and repairs as well as certain orchestral instruments such as the E-flat clarinet and English Horn.
ESYO musicians have the opportunity to perform at a variety of acoustic gems including Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, Arthur Zankel Music Center, Carnegie Hall and the Massry Center for the Arts. ESYO also invests each season in bringing new music to life through commissioning and composer-in-residency projects. Every few years, ESYO participates in an International Tour, performing at outstanding venues across the globe.
