Audition Video Requirements

Do you have questions about how to audition online?  Relax and don’t stress. Here is a complete guide to successfully completing an online ESYO audition.

ESYO Audition Video Submission Guidelines

  • Record one (1) separate UNEDITED video for each of your solo pieces and record one (1) video for your excerpts and/or scales.

  • Each solo video should be no longer than 3 minutes.
  • Your camera should record from a fixed position. Face toward the camera. The judges must be able to see your face, whole instrument, fingerings, bow, and embouchure. Do not block the view with your music stand.
  • Record your videos at home, using any tool available to you (cell phones are fine).
  • Be mindful of acoustics. Avoid recording your audition in a bathroom or space that echoes. 
  • Audition videos must be uploaded to your audition application.  The following common digital formats are accepted: MPEG, MPG, MP4, MOV.  File size cannot exceed 5GB.
  • No editing of the audio or video is permitted. 
  • Solo recordings from January 1, 2024 to present will be accepted.
  • Audition pieces should be performed without accompaniment to ensure focus on individual performance.
